Insomnia Introduces New Interactive Advertising Tool in Hungary

Organized by Digital Media Working Group of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hungary Insomnia Advertising has recently expounded a new, interactive and innovative advertising scheme before an audience of potential and interested advertisers.
Approximately half of the Hungarian population over 12 years of age is on Facebook, and significant segments of this group regularly play Facebook games.  Through a game-based advertising system, SupersonicAds, ads may be placed in the flow of the game, and those electing to watch these commercial messages receive, in return, virtual currency and other rewards. The self-service motivational system offered a new advertising surface, especially for consumer goods either as a part of an integrated campaign or as a stand-alone campaign. It also allows advertisers to be in interactive and direct contact with their potential customers.
Experts agree that Facebook as a medium has created a unique advertising regime while creating new demands for content and communications forms. Insomnia aspires to promote a more conscious advertising approach by companies and increase the efficacy of their marketing communications efforts through the use of these brand new tools on Facebook

The new agency will primarily service clients of the Persian Gulf. The new office opened after more than a year of preparatory work, which confirmed the demand by companies of the region for communications services provided by Insomnia. The first clients are Saud Arabian and Bahrainian companies, as well as local ventures of global companies. By winning the tender of Baumit, Insomnia has taken another step towards managing the campaign of all manufacturers needed in order to build a house and thus becoming experts in the communications of the building-trade. Insomnia Enters the Saudi Arabian Communications Market

2012. Jan. 24th

The moment that Insomnia publicity agency signed a long-term contract between Insomnia and Sherbiny for Commerce a supplier to the Saudi Arabian oil industry was preceded by lots of travel and many meetings. They were worth the effort: Insomnia is the first Hungarian-owned communication agency to have a client in the Saudi Arabian market.

Insomnia, keeping its previous goals in sight, spared no pains to gain a significant clientele in foreign markets. The lengthy negotiation process and 60,000 intercontinental miles reached their goal: the agency signed a long term agreement with Sherbiny for Commerce, a company which provides services oil, gas and sewage companies. Insomnia became the first Hungarian communications agency to have entered the Saudi Arabian market.

Sherbiny for Commerce is a traditional Saudi Arabian company with the management  still in family hands. In the last 25 years the company has proved to be a trusted supplier for oil companies and has shown it can compete with the best multinational companies in this competitive market. Based on its success, Sherbiny are planning to expand its operations to other countries of the Arabian Gulf and other countries where the oil industry plays a decisive role. Insomnia will help the company emphasize these facts in their communication. Their primary tasks are to create the new corporate identity and positioning, while designing and develop web pages and other comunication tools will also be part of the creative team’s job.

„As a Saudi company we think tradition is one of the most important values. However, as we discovered, in order to stay in the race we must open towards modern solutions. Just as we did in our technological developments, we are looking to use innovative methods in our communication as well. We chose Insomnia for their creativity, speed and experience with international clients.” – says Majed Sherbiny, Business Development Manager of Sherbiny for Commerce.

Insomnia is also expects significant orders from Turkey in the next few years.

Effie-Winning Campaign by Insomnia

2011. Oct. 17th

Insomnia’s Opel Service 4+ image campaign won a Hungarian silver Effie in the Durable Goods category on Friday, October 14. The Effie Award is one of the most prestigious recognitions in the advertising business.

The aim of the winning campaign was to emphasize the main advantage of Opel Service 4+ Program: it is a specially priced service and maintenance program for older cars. In the TV and radio ad Insomnia substituted a 4-year-old boy for a 4-year-old car in order to show what a neglected, older car could feel in a kind, emotional and sometimes gut-wrenching way.

The agency’s task was to persuade the owners of such older cars to choose authorized Opel Dealers instead of giving the business to unreliable “corner garages”.

Insomnia’s award-winning  work is unique in many respects:

  • Opel has not shot a TV commercial in Hungary since the mid-90s.
  • It was a car commercial which did not show a car
  • It is so successful that the adaptation of the campaign has begun to show it in several countries of the region.
  • The campaign generated impressive statistics for Opel Dealers: The rate of awareness has increased by 21% and business grew by 28% after its airing..

Insomnia Website Designer in CRESTA Jury

2011. Jul. 01st

András Ketler, Insomnia's digital art director / web designer was invited to join the on-line jury of Cresta, the prestigious New York based advertising award. The invitation came after András designed the new Cresta website this spring which gained wide ranging acclaim.

'I am deeply honored' András says. 'To design their website was a challenge because a huge amount of information has to be treated in an easily manageable manner at all times on the site. And, of course, I was fully aware that the cream of the cream of the advertising profession would scrutinize what I designed. It was a great relief that they actually liked the result'.

The Cresta Awards were launched in 1993 by Creative Standards International, in partnership with the International Advertising Association. Cresta stands for 'Creative Standards'.
